It has been a couple of weeks since I have blogged. I definitely have wanted to blog, but things have been very busy around the house and with work. I will blog about some of that in the next few days. In the midst of the busyness, last Thursday was "Dad's Day" at Brendon's preschool. I was invited to spend an hour with him in class. We were the first to arrive, and we arrived early. In fact, soon it was past time for class to start and only one other child and dad had arrived. I could hear the teachers wondering where everyone was. I simply pointed out that it was the dads bringing the kids to school rather than the moms.
When we arrived, Brendon immediately introduced me as Tevis rather than dad. I was caught off guard a little bit. However, I then watched the teacher ask all the other kids who came if they knew their dad's name. We had an hour to work at various stations. We made a paper weight that I never got to keep because Brendon insists that it is his even though it says "dad" on it. The big highlight for Brendon was when he got to give me the crown he made for me. All the dads were told that we were "king for a day." I was happy because it at least wasn't something that said "world's greatest and best number one dad" on it. I have tried to make it clear to Tami to steer away from those kinds of things. I only wish royal treatment really came with the crown for a day. I am pretty sure the fine print on the inside of the crown said, "This is not a real crown. It may rip. We take no responsibility for how it may look on you."
